Miller went to Fredonia, Wisconsin’s Ozaukee High School. He was a four-year starter for Ozaukee in football and basketball.

After his freshman year,  Owen Miller stopped playing high school baseball and focused only on travel baseball. He went undrafted in the 2015 MLB draft and went on to play college baseball for the Redbirds at Illinois State University.

He played collegiate summer baseball with the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League and also in the Northwoods League after the season.

Owen Miller hit .384 with six home runs and 35 RBIs in 52 games as a junior, earning All-MVC First-Team accolades.

Noah Miller, Miller’s younger brother, was taken 36th overall in the 2021 MLB draft by the Minnesota Twins.
