Parker Michael Markel is a professional baseball pitcher from the United States who currently plays for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball.

Markel was born on September 15, 1990. (MLB). His past teams in Major League Baseball (MLB) were the Seattle Mariners and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Tampa Bay Rays selected Markel in the 39th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft, and he subsequently signed with the team.



During his tenure with them, he was a member of the Gulf Coast Rays, Hudson Valley Renegades, Bowling Green Hot Rods, Charlotte Stone Crabs, Montgomery Biscuits, and Durham Bulls. He also managed the Montgomery Biscuits.

He was a member of the independent baseball American Association team the Sioux City Explorers for the whole of the 2018 season.

In October of 2019, the Los Angeles Angels acquired Markel from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for monetary considerations. On July 27, 2019, the Pittsburgh Pirates picked him up after he had been released by another team.

Because of his nervousness, Markel requested a release from the Lotte Giants in 2017. A hot air balloon firm, Lululemon, and a hot air balloon shop were among the businesses that employed him during his time off from professional baseball in 2017.

In spring training with the Sioux City Explorers in 2018, Markel was struck by a batted ball and sustained a concussion and a perforated right eardrum.
