Corbin was traded to the Diamondbacks for Dan Haren at the trade deadline, along with Joe Saunders, Rafael Rodrguez, and Tyler Skaggs.

Corbin was sent to the California League’s Visalia Rawhide by the Diamondbacks. In 26 innings with Visalia, Corbin had a 1.38 ERA.

He set a franchise record with 27+13 consecutive shutout innings while pitching for the Mobile Bay Bears of the Class AA Southern League in 2011.

He had a 9–8 win–loss record and 142 strikeouts in 160+ innings during this season. He led the Southern League in strikeouts, and Mobile won the league championship.

Corbin was invited to spring training by the Diamondbacks in 2012, where he pitched to a 0.57 ERA. Corbin started the 2012 season with Mobile, where he went 2–0 with a 1.67 ERA in four starts.

The Diamondbacks promoted Corbin to the major leagues on April 30, 2012, to replace Josh Collmenter, who was reassigned to the bullpen.

To make a place on the roster, Joe Martinez was optioned to the Reno Aces of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League.

Corbin won his MLB debut against the Miami Marlins after allowing three runs in 5+23 innings. In the win, Corbin also had two sacrifice bunts and scored a run.

On May 22, the Diamondbacks optioned Corbin to Reno after he posted a 2–3 record and a 5.27 ERA in five starts, just as Daniel Hudson was about to return from the injured list.

In June, Hudson went down with an elbow injury, so the Diamondbacks recalled Corbin as a long reliever and moved Collmenter into the rotation.

When the Diamondbacks activated Saunders from the disabled list in July, they optioned Corbin to Reno again so that he could continue to pitch as a starter.

On August 1, the Diamondbacks recalled Corbin, who took Collmenter’s place in the rotation.
