Between the years 2013 and 2016, Ricard was a member of the defensive line for the University of Maine’s Maine Black Bears football team. In 2012, he participated in the unofficial “redshirt” season.



During the 2013 season, he participated in all 13 games and recorded the following statistics: 19 solo tackles, 40 tackle assists, 1 sack, 2 pass breakups, and 1 forced fumble. The College Sports Journal recognized Ricard as a member of the FCS Second Team All-Freshman.

In 2014, he participated in a total of 10 games and started 9, recording a total of 19 solo tackles, 27 assisted tackles, 4.5 sacks, 6 pass breakups, and 1 blocked kick. In 2015, he played in ten games, all of which he started, and recorded 25 solo tackles, 28 tackle assists, seven sacks, two pass breakups, and three forced fumbles.

Ricard was selected to the First Team All-CAA as well as the Second Team All-Stars for ECAC Division I FCS. In 2016, he participated in 11 games, all of which he started, and finished the season with a total of 25 solo tackles, 25 assisted tackles, 5.5 sacks, 1 pass breakup, and 1 blocked kick.

He was named to the First Team All-CAA, the First Team All-Star for ECAC Division I FCS, the Third Team All-American for STATS FCS, and the First Team All-New England for the New England Football Writers Division I All-New England Team.
