American Major League Baseball pitcher Patrick Jordan Sandoval was born on October 18, 1996. He plays for the Los Angeles Angels.

Sandoval attended Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, California, where he played baseball. He finished his senior year 9–3 with a 0.97 ERA.

Prior to changing his pledge, he had previously committed to playing collegiate baseball at Vanderbilt University. However, he is now committed to the University of Southern California.



The Houston Astros picked Sandoval in the eleventh round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft.

In exchange for $900,000, he signed away his USC pledge. He made his professional debut that year with the Gulf Coast League Astros, going 0–3 with a 6.08 ERA in six starts after signing.

He pitched in 13 games for the Greeneville Astros in 2016 and for the Buies Creek Astros, Tri-City ValleyCats, and Quad Cities River Bandits in 2017, compiling a combined 3–4 record and 4.09 ERA in 14 games (11 starts) for the three teams. In 2016, he played for the Greeneville Astros, where he pitched to a 2–3 record and 5.30 ERA.

The starting pitcher for the Midwest League All-Star Game, Sandoval began the 2018 campaign with Quad Cities. In late June, he was appointed to Buies Creek.
