Paul Campbell is one of the professional baseball players known to play in the major leagues as a pitcher for the Miami Marlins baseball team of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has been playing for the Marlins since 2020.
Paul grew up in Malden Massachusetts where he was born on July 26, 1995. He had his high school amateur baseball career at Malden Catholic High School in his home town. After, he continued at Clemson University where he played college baseball for the Clemson Tigers.
During the 2017 MLB draft, the Tampa Bay Rays selected him in the 21st round of the draft. He signed with the Rays and played for them from 2017 to 2020 when he was picked by the Miami Marlins in the 2020 Rule 5 draft.
He made it to the Marlins’ Opening Day roster for the 2021 season. The Marlins selected his contract and promoted him to the major leagues in April 2021 and he made his MLB debut on April 3, 2021. He made his first MLB appearance on May 1 that year. Two days later, he was suspended from 80 games after violating MLB’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program after he l tested positive for Dehydrochlormethyltestoster.
