Williams was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) after leaving the game with a knee injury, which put an end to his rookie season.

At the time of his injury, he led the team in receptions with 32, had 428 yards receiving, and scored three touchdowns. He concluded the season as the leading receiver on the team.
