Prince Tega Wanogho, an offensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League, was born in Nigeria on November 22, 1997.
He is now playing for the Chiefs for the second season. In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the sixth round after he played four years of collegiate football at Auburn.
Wanogho, who was born in Delta State, Nigeria, relocated to Alabama in 2014 in the hopes of becoming a professional basketball player.
At Edgewood Academy in Elmore, Alabama, he earned his education and honed his football abilities as a defensive lineman.
Despite having only played football for one year prior to committing to playing collegiate football at Auburn University, Wanogho was a four-star recruit.
He has received scholarship offers from several universities, including Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, and Texas, to play collegiate football.
In order to recover from a leg injury he suffered playing basketball in his senior year of high school, Wanogho missed his first season at Auburn. As a result, he had to wear a red shirt.
His original position was offensive lineman, but he changed to backup for 10 games in 2016. He assumed the role of left tackle starter in 2017,
remained in that position until his senior season in 2019, and started a total of 32 games throughout his tenure with the squad.
Wanogho signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs on January 16, 2021, and he later joined the practice squad.
He was taken from the active roster on August 31, 2021, and the practice squad signed him back the next day. On January 26, 2021, he signed a deal to become a member of the Chiefs and was added to the team’s reserves/future roster.
