For the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, Reed Scott Blankenship plays safety in American football. He attended Middle Tennessee for his college football career before being acquired as an undrafted free agent by the Eagles in 2022.



Born on March 2nd, 1999, Blankenship was raised in Athens, Alabama. During his time at West Limestone High School, he participated in basketball and football. In football, he was chosen for all-state, all-region, all-county, and all-area teams, and in 2016 he won Player of the Year.

As a fifth-year senior in 2021, Blankenship started each of the 13 games and led the team in tackles with 110.



He recovered three fumbles, which was third in the country, and had 5.8 solo tackles per game, which was eighth in the country.

Blankenship was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent after going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Along with Josh Jobe and Josh Sills, he was one of three 2022 undrafted players to make the Eagles’ final roster. In week five’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, he made his NFL debut and contributed two tackles to the 20-17 victory.
