Reiver José Sanmartin is a professional baseball pitcher from Colombia who currently pitches for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). In 2021, he made his MLB debut. Sanmartin joined the Texas Rangers as an international free agent on July 2, 2015.
Sanmartin pitched for the DSL Rangers of the Dominican Summer League’s Rookie Division in 2016 and 2017, going 0–1 with a 5.23 ERA over 10+13 innings in 2016, then 7–1 with a 2.35 ERA and 56 strikeouts over 61+13 innings in 2017.
He divided the 2017 season between the Class A Short Season Northwest League’s Spokane Indians and the Class A South Atlantic League’s Hickory Crawdads, finishing 7–2 with a 2.45 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 66 innings.
