Richie Grant’s football career started at Choctawhatchee High School. While a student-athlete at high school, he was part of the school track and football team. The football safety currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.
Grant participated in the 2021 NFL combine and was selected by the Falcons in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Richie Grant College Career
After considering offers from Georgia State, Tennessee-Chattanooga, the Citadel, and Kennesaw State, two-star recruit Grant decided to play collegiate football for Central Florida.
Grant sat out his first year as a true freshman and then participated in the rotation of defensive backfield players as a redshirt freshman.
Grant was a first-team All-American Athletic Conference (AAC) selection after leading the Knights in tackles (109), interceptions (six), and other defensive statistics (three forced fumbles, nine passes defended, and three fumble recoveries) during his redshirt sophomore season. He was also named a starter for the upcoming season.
After his performance in the next season, which saw him make four tackles for loss, eight passes defended, one forced fumble, and an interception, he was once again chosen to the first team of all-conference players.
