Richie Grant plays professional football safety for the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons. He is 88 kilograms and 1.83 meters tall. He played football when a student at Choctawhatchee High School. Despite receiving offers from other colleges, he chose Central Florida to play college football. He participated in collegiate football with the University of Central Florida Knights.

He redshirted his true freshman year and was a redshirt freshman defensive back in the rotation. In addition to being selected first team All-American Athletic Conference (AAC) after leading the Knights with 109 tackles, six interceptions, three forced fumbles, and nine passes defended during his redshirt sophomore season, he was also given the starting nod.

As a redshirt senior, he led the team with 72 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, three interceptions, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He was named first team All-AAC for the third consecutive season. He placed second for the Bednarik Award as a senior and finished third for the Jim Thorpe Award.

In the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons picked Grant with the 40th overall choice. On June 18, 2021, he signed a $3.4 million signing bonus and a $8.3 million four-year rookie deal with the Falcons.
