Ronel Blanco, full name Ronel De Jesus Blanco is a professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher for the Houston Astros baseball team. Ronel was signed as an international free agent by the Houston Astros in April 2016.
He made his professional debut that year after he was assigned to spend the season playing for both the DSL Astros and the GCL Astros. He spent the following season with both the Quad Cities River Bandits and the Buies Creek Astros.
The Astros assigned him to the Buies Creek and the Corpus Christi Hooks for the 2018 season. He spent 2019 with the Tri-City ValleyCats, Corpus Christi and the Round Rock Express. During the 2020 minor league season, he did not play in any game as the season suffered cancellation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Astros selected his contract and promoted him to the major leagues in April 2022 and on April 9, that year, he made his MLB debut for the team when they played against the Los Angeles Angels.
