Ronnie Perkins is a linebacker with the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He attended Oklahoma University and played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners football team.
Perkins was a student at Lutheran High School North in St. Louis, Missouri. He received the St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro football defensive player of the year honor as a senior in 2017.
In 2018, he participated in the All-American Bowl that was hosted by the United States Army. Perkins made a commitment to play college football at Oklahoma University.
Perkins had 37 tackles and five sacks during his freshman season at Oklahoma in 2018, during which he started seven games and recorded a total of five sacks.
Prior to being suspended from the 2019 Peach Bowl due to a failing drug test, he started each of his 13 games during his sophomore season. At the end of the season, he had a total of 38 tackles and six sacks. The suspension lasted through his junior year in 2020, five games into the season.
In the 2021 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots selected Perkins in the third round, giving them the 96th overall pick.
Perkins signed a rookie deal with New England on July 20, 2021, which was for a total of four years. He was put on injured reserve on December 17 after sitting out the first 13 games of the season. Perkins was then placed on injured reserve on August 23, 2022.
