As a linebacker for the New England Patriots of the National Football League, Ronnie Perkins also happens to play American football. He is 112 kg in weight and 1.91 m tall. In Missouri’s St. Louis, he went to Lutheran High School North. He was selected as the 2017 St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro football defensive player of the year as a senior. During the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, he participated.
Perkins made a commitment to play college football at Oklahoma University. He participated in the Oklahoma Sooners football program team while playing collegiate football there. He started seven games as an Oklahoma true freshman in 2018, finishing with 37 tackles and five sacks.
Before being suspended from the 2019 Peach Bowl due to a failing drug test, he started each of his 13 games during his sophomore season. He recorded six sacks in addition to his 38 tackles for the season. Five games into his junior season in 2020, the suspension still stood. In the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, he was selected by the New England Patriots.
He agreed to a four-year rookie contract with the New England Patriots on July 20, 2021. He was placed on injured reserve on December 17, 2021, after sitting out the first 13 games of the season. Perkins was added to the injured reserve in August 2022.
