The offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League is known professionally as Ronnie Stanley. While attending Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he also played basketball, football was his main sport. He was ranked as the class’s fifteenth-best offensive lineman prospect by Rivals.com, giving him a four-star rating.
In December 2011, Stanley committed to play college football for the University of Notre Dame. He took part in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s football team. Stanley competed in two games as a reserve as a true freshman in 2012. As a sophomore in 2013, he started each of the 13 games at right tackle.
In his 13 games as a junior in 2014, he started all of them, and over the entire season, he allowed just one sack. He declared his intent to declare for the 2016 NFL Draft after his senior year. The Baltimore Ravens selected him in the opening round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In May 2016, the Baltimore Ravens offered him a four-year, $20.48 million rookie contract with a $13.09 million signing bonus.
In 2018, he made 15 starts, missing only one because of an ankle injury. In April 2019, the Ravens decided to execute Stanley’s fifth-year option. In October 2020, he agreed to a five-year, $112.8 million contract with the Ravens. In October 2021, following season-ending ankle surgery, he was placed on injured reserve.
