Borucki received his secondary education in Mundelein, Illinois, at Mundelein High School, which is located in his hometown.

A 15th-round pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2012 MLB draft, Ryan Borucki is an outfielder. After undergoing Tommy John’s surgery, he was out for the entire 2013 season.



Rookies Advanced Bluefield and Short Season-A Vancouver were the two minor league teams he played in 2014. The Lansing Lugnuts and Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays were among his stops in 2015.

Borucki didn’t make the Blue Jays’ Opening Day roster for the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season. He lost his starting job to rookie Anthony Kay.

Activated on July 27, he was added to the bullpen. He pitched 113 scoreless innings and won against the Washington Nationals.

Borucki threw 16.2 innings for the 2020 Toronto Blue Jays, going 1–1 with a 2.70 ERA and 21 strikeouts. Borucki strained his left forearm flexor on July 6, 2021.  Borucki returned on July 16.

He “intentionally” struck Tampa Bay Rays’ Kevin Kiermaier on September 22, 2021. Borucki was banned for 3 days along with manager Charlie Montoyo. He appealed and got 2 games off.
