Ryan Michael Jeffers is an American professional baseball catcher who is currently employed by the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball. He was born on June 3, 1997.

In Raleigh, North Carolina, Jeffers received his secondary education from Sanderson High School. During his senior season in 2016, he had a batting average of.398 and hit two home runs.

After going unnoticed during the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, he enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and tried out for the school’s baseball club through the walk-on process.

Even though Jeffers only played in 13 games during his rookie year at UNCW in 2017, he still managed to hit.348 with one home run and five RBIs.

During the summer of that season, he was a member of the Wilmington Sharks baseball team, which competed in the Coastal Plain League.

As a sophomore in 2018, he started 52 out of 53 games and batted.328 with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs, earning him First-Team All-CAA accolades.  He was also named to the CAA Honorable Mention Team.

Following the conclusion of the season, he went on to play for the Upper Valley Nighthawks of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, where he was recognized as an All-Star.

During Jeffers’ junior year at UNCW in 2018, he had a slash line of.315/.460/.635 with 16 home runs and 59 RBIs over the course of 62 starts, which earned him a spot on the First Team All-CAA for the second year in a row.
