Ryan Michael Jeffers is a Major League Baseball catcher who currently plays for the Minnesota Twins (MLB). Jeffers was born on June 3, 1997, at Raleigh and he is currently 25 years old.
Jeffers gained his High School education at Sanderson High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. He hit.398 with two home runs in his final year of 2016. After being undrafted in the 2016 MLB draft, he enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and walked on to their baseball team.
Jeffers played in only 13 games as a freshman at UNCW in 2017, but he hit.348 with one home run and five RBIs. He played with the Wilmington Sharks in the Coastal Plain League that summer.
After his junior year, the Minnesota Twins selected Jeffers in the second round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, with the 59th overall pick. In July, he was promoted to the Cedar Rapids Kernels after signing with the Twins and making his professional debut with the Elizabethton Twins.
