Ryan James Vilade, an American professional baseball outfielder with the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball, was born on February 18, 1999.

Vilade was raised in Frisco, Texas, and spent his freshman, sophomore, and junior years at Frisco High School. He participated in the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game at Wrigley Field in July 2016, following his junior year, and won the Home Run Derby with 18 home runs.

He competed for the 18U American national team that autumn. He signed to play baseball in college for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Vilade was chosen by the Colorado Rockies with the 48th overall pick in the second round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft. He agreed to a $1.4 million contract.



Following his signing, he made his professional debut with the Rookie-level Pioneer League’s Grand Junction Rockies. In his first at-bat, he blasted a home run, earning him a spot in the All-Star game.

He played 33 games for Grand Junction during the entire season, slashing.308/.438/.496 with five home runs and 21 RBIs.

Colorado selected Vilade’s contract on September 18, 2021, and added him to the active roster so that he could make his Major League Baseball debut that evening at Nationals Park against the Washington Nationals.

With the Isotopes, Vilade began the 2022 season in the minor leagues.
