Sam Haggerty, also known as Samuel Onofrio Haggerty, is an American infielder who plays professional baseball. He participates in baseball with the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners pay him a salary of $700,000 every year.



At Denver, Colorado’s Mullen High School, Haggerty participated in high school baseball. He attended the University of New Mexico after high school and played baseball for the Lobos there. He was chosen to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team and honoured as the Mountain West Conference’s co-Freshman of the Year in his rookie season

He participated in the 2014 Cape Cod Baseball League’s Hyannis Harbor Hawks as a collegiate summer baseball player. In the 24th round of the 2015 MLB Draft, he was selected by the Cleveland Indians. He signed with the Indians that year, and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers were where he made his professional debut.

He participated in 2016 with the Lake County Captains. He played with the Lynchburg Hill Cats in 2017 and the Akron RubberDucks and Columbus Clippers in 2018, respectively. He was traded to the New York Mets in January 2019. That year, while playing for the Brooklyn Cyclones, Binghamton Rumble Ponies, and Syracuse Mets, he made his Mets debut.

The Mets chose his contract and promoted him to the main leagues in September 2019. On September 4, 2019, when the Mets took on the Washington Nationals, he made his Major League Baseball debut. In January 2020, the Seattle Mariners picked him up off waivers.
