A quarterback for the National Football League’s Washington Commanders is Sam Howell. He is 100 kilograms in weight and 1.85 meters tall. He attended Sun Valley High School and played football there. He played collegiate football for the North Carolina Tar Heels while attending the University of North Carolina after graduating from high school.
Being the first true freshman to start at quarterback in his debut season, he created history at the school. His debut game saw him throw for 245 yards and two touchdowns. As the regular season came to a close, he completed 234 of 388 passes for 3,347 yards, 35 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
Prior to his second season, he was on watchlists for the Maxwell, Manning, and O’Brien awards. He threw for 443 yards against Virginia, earning him ACC Player of the Week honors. The season ended with him rushing for 828 yards and 11 touchdowns while also throwing for 3,056 yards and 24 scores.
After receiving his diploma in December 2021, he declared he will forfeit his remaining college eligibility in order to declare for the 2022 NFL Draft. The Washington Commanders selected Howell with the 144th overall choice in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. On May 6, 2022, he executed a four-year rookie deal.
