Sam Howell is a pro quarterback for the National Football League’s Washington Commanders. Having a height of 1.85 m, he weighs 100 kg. After graduating from high school, he went to the University of North Carolina and played football for the North Carolina Tar Heels there.

He declared he would forfeit his remaining college eligibility after graduating in December 2021 in order to enter the 2022 NFL Draft. The Washington Commanders selected Howell in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft with the 144th overall choice. On May 6, 2022, he committed to a four-year rookie deal.
