Saquon Barkley is an American football running back for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL).
Prior to entering the NFL in 2018, Barkley played college football at Penn State for three seasons gaining 5,557 all-purpose yards.
Barkley garnered many national and Big Ten Conference trophies and acclaim, in addition to receiving national notice.
In 2017, Barkley finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting with 304 total votes, and he also finished third in the voting for the Maxwell Award.
During Barkley’s three years as a student at Penn State, he broke and set a number of all-time school records.
These include the record for the most all-purpose career yards (5,538), the record for the most career rushing touchdowns (43), the record for the most career receiving yards by a running back (1,157), the record for the most rushing yards by a freshman and a sophomore, and the record for the most total yards in a single game.
During the 2018 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Barkley as the second overall pick.
