Scott Oberg is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). During his time at the University of Connecticut, Oberg was a member of the Huskies’ baseball team.

In Cape Cod’s Cape Cod Baseball League in 2009, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cape Cod Braves. Earlier this year, he had Tommy John surgery.

The Colorado Rockies selected Oberg in the 15th round of the 2012 MLB draft. He was signed by the Rockies and made his debut with the Grand Junction Rockies.



He was a member of the Modesto Nuts in 2013. As a Double-A Tulsa Drillers pitcher in 2014, Oberg only appeared in 27 games as a result of injuries.

During John Axford’s absence due to family obligations, the Rockies called up Oberg to the big leagues on April 12, 2015. When it came to his debut season, Oberg finished with a 5.09 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 58.1 innings of work.

Over 26.0 innings for Colorado last year, Oberg had a 5.19 ERA and 20 strikeouts. Oberg pitched in 66 games for the Rockies in 2017 and posted a career-low ERA (4.94) and career-high strikeout totals (55).
