Lawson and the Miami Dolphins reached an agreement on a three-year, $30 million contract in March 2020. Lawson was traded to the Houston Texans in March 2021. In August 2021, the New York Jets acquired him from the Texans. Lawson and the Buffalo Bills agreed to a one-season deal in March 2022.
