Shaquille Lawson, also known as Shaq Lawson in the professional sphere, is a defensive end with the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills in American football. Lawrence Lawson and Rolitha Oglesby welcomed him into the world on June 17, 1994 in Lake Wylie, South Carolina, in the United States. He was a student at Central, South Carolina’s D. W. Daniel High School.

As a senior, he made 99 tackles and recorded nine sacks. As a junior, he made 100 tackles and recorded 13 sacks. He made his college football commitment to Clemson University and was listed as a four-star prospect by Rivals.com. Following graduation from high school, Lawson spent a year at Hargrave Military Academy before enrolling at Clemson University, where he played collegiate football for the Clemson Tigers.

Following college, the Buffalo Bills selected him with the 19th overall choice in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He injured his shoulder during offseason practice, underwent surgery in May 2016, and was out for four to six months. He was given a four-year, $10.27 million contract by the Buffalo Bills in June 2016, which included a $5.67 million signing bonus and a guarantee of $9.82 million.

Lawson and the Miami Dolphins agreed to a three-year, $30 million contract in March 2020. Lawson was traded to the Houston Texans in March 2021. He was bought by the New York Jets in August 2021 from the Texans. Lawson committed to a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills in March 2022.
