Shaquille Lawson, a defensive end for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills, is also known as Shaq Lawson at work. His parents, Lawrence Lawson and Rolitha Oglesby, welcomed him into the world on June 17, 1994 in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. He attended D. W. Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina.

He earned 99 tackles and nine sacks as a senior. He had 100 tackles and 13 sacks as a junior. He received a four-star talent rating on Rivals.com. Lawson spent a year at Hargrave Military Academy following his high school graduation before enrolling at Clemson University, where he played NCAA football for the Clemson Tigers.

In the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected him out of college with the 19th overall pick. He had a shoulder injury during off-season training, had surgery in May 2016, and missed four to six months of action. A four-year, $10.27 million contract with a $5.67 million signing bonus and a $9.82 million guarantee was made available to him by the Buffalo Bills in June 2016.

In March 2020, Lawson and the Miami Dolphins came to an agreement on a three-year, $30 million deal. In March 2021, Lawson was dealt to the Houston Texans. He was acquired by the New York Jets in August 2021 from the Texans. The Buffalo Bills and Lawson reached a one-season contract in March 2022.
