Shaq Lawson

Shaquille Lawson, a defensive end for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills, is also referred to as Shaq Lawson in the workplace. He was born on June 17, 1994 in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. He attended D. W. Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina.

He earned 99 tackles and nine sacks as a senior. He had 100 tackles and 13 sacks as a junior. He received a four-star talent rating on Rivals.com. Lawson spent a year at Hargrave Military Academy following his high school graduation before enrolling at Clemson University, where he played NCAA football for the Clemson Tigers.

He was taken by the Buffalo Bills with the 19th overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, coming out of college. He had a shoulder injury during off-season training, had surgery in May 2016, and missed four to six months of action. He received a four-year, $10.27 million contract from the Buffalo Bills in June 2016 that included a $5.67 million signing bonus and a $9.82 million guarantee.

In March 2020, Lawson and the Miami Dolphins agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal. In March 2021, Lawson was dealt to the Houston Texans. He was purchased by the New York Jets from the Texans in August 2021. Lawson and the Buffalo Bills reached an agreement for a single season in March 2022.
