Sheldon Lynn Neuse is a Major League Baseball infielder with the Oakland Athletics of the United States. He has also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball. He was a member of the Oklahoma Sooners baseball team in college.

Neuse went to Keller, Texas’ Fossil Ridge High School. He was taken in the 38th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft by the Texas Rangers, but he did not sign.

Neuse attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Oklahoma Sooners baseball team. He played collegiate summer baseball for the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Harwich Mariners in 2015.



Neuse hit .369/.465/.646 as a junior at Oklahoma in 2016, with 10 home runs and 48 RBI (RBIs). He received the Brooks Wallace Award, which is presented to the greatest shortstop in collegiate baseball every year.

Neuse was drafted in the second round of the 2016 MLB draft by the Washington Nationals.

 

He made his professional debut with the Auburn Doubledays after signing with the Nationals.

He had a .230 batting average and one home run in his maiden professional season. Neuse started the season with the Hagerstown Suns.
