The first of the 11 players selected as part of the Miami Dolphins’ 2020 draft class has been signed by the organization.
The team selected offensive guard Solomon Kindley out of the University of Georgia in the fourth round, and he signed a four-year contract worth $4,079,572 in basic salary and signing bonus.
Kindley will probably face competition for one of Miami’s two starting guard positions from Ereck Flowers, Michael Deiter, Danny Isidora, Shaq Calhoun, Adam Pankey, Keaton Sutherland, and fellow freshman Robert Hunt.
According to Overthecap.com, Kindley, who excelled in the run game during his NCAA career, will likely receive a signing bonus of somewhere about $785,000.
Solomon’s contract information was not immediately available, but every Miami 2020 draft pick aside from the first three picks will start out with a signing bonus and minimum deals for the following four years. However, due to the wage structure of the NFL, their base earnings will probably increase as their playing time increases.
The Dolphins will need a total of $17,517,278 in pool money to sign the 2020 draft class, but less than $14 million in cap room will be required because only the top 51 salaries on the team’s 90-player training camp roster count toward the cap.
