Running back, Sony Kevin Michel is a National Football League player with the Miami Dolphins. On February 17, 1995, his parents, Jean and Marie Michel, gave birth to him in Orlando, Florida, in the United States. Michel attended American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. He was the American Heritage Patriots’ starting running back as of his eighth-grade season.
He competed in track and field activities at American Heritage. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the University of Georgia, where he played NCAA football for the Georgia Bulldogs. The New England Patriots selected Michel in the opening round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was selected as the third running back that year.
Michel finished his first campaign with six touchdowns on the strength of 7 receptions for 50 yards and 931 yards on the ground. Michel had 24 touches for 129 yards and three touchdowns in the 41-28 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the divisional round.
He was dealt to the Los Angeles Rams on August 25, 2021. Michel led the club in rushing during the regular season with 845 yards. He would later earn his second Super Bowl title when the Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. In the Super Bowl, Michel had 2 carries for 2 yards.
On May 10, 2022, Michel and the Miami Dolphins signed a contract.
