Sony Michel is a running back for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League. He is an American football player. He is 1.80 m tall and 98 kg in weight. He was the starting running back for the American Heritage Patriots while attending American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida, starting in the eighth grade.

He gained 1,833 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground as a senior. He ran for 4,758 yards and 63 touchdowns over his three seasons on the varsity team. Rivals.com gave him a five-star rating and placed him as the third-best running back and 13th-best athlete overall.

Following high school, he enrolled at the University of Georgia, where he played collegiate football for the Georgia Bulldogs. In eight games as a true freshman in 2014, Michel made one start. In addition to 22 receptions for 149 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown, he accumulated 840 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in the 2016 season. In the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots selected him.
