American pitcher Stephen Thomas Ridings, who plays for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball, was born on August 14, 1995. In 2021, he debuted in the MLB.
The Chicago Cubs selected Ridings in the eighth round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. Ridings made his professional debut in 2017 with the Arizona League Cubs, pitching in 12 games while compiling a 4.09 ERA.
Ridings pitched in 22 games for the Low-A Eugene Emeralds in 2018, recording a 4.15 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 34.2 innings pitched.

On August 3, 2021, Ridings made his major league debut. During the game, he struck out three hitters and gave up one hit. The game was started by Luis Gil, while Brody Koerner also pitched.

Before being sent back to Triple-A Scranton on August 17, Ridings had a 1.80 ERA in five appearances with the big league team. Ridings was added to the Yankees’ 40-man roster by them on November 19, 2021, following the 2021 campaign.
