Sterling Shepard, a native of Oklahoma City, started off his early career at Heritage Hall School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The young athlete racked up a very good resume during his junior year when he rushed for 1,115 yards and caught 133 passes for 2,335 yards and 38 touchdowns in his career.
In his final year, he carried the ball 28 times for 303 yards and eight touchdowns while also catching 73 passes for 1,243 yards and 17 more. After playing his final year of high school ball, he was honored with a spot in the Under Armour All-American Game. In addition, Shepard participated in both track and basketball while attending Heritage.
At the State Championships in 2011, he competed as a senior and jumped 6.69 meters (21’11.5″ feet), which earned him second place in the long jump competition.
