Steven Kwan is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2022.
The Guardians made the announcement that Kwan would be participating in the team’s Opening Day lineup on April 2, 2022.
On Opening Day (April 7), he was the starting right fielder for his team in the Major League Baseball and recorded his first hit in the majors off of a reliever for the Kansas City Royals named Scott Barlow.
After making his debut, he went on to become just the sixth player since at least 1901 to have a game with five hits inside his first three games in the major league. Additionally, he went on to become the first player since at least 1901 to reach base safely 15 times in his first four games.
Before swinging and missing, he had seen 116 pitches, which is the most any batter has seen to start their career since the year 2000.
In April of 2022, the AL rookie of the month award was bestowed upon Kwan. On May 5, he went yard for the first time in the major leagues, and José Berrios was the pitcher who allowed him to do it.
