Steven Chandler Okert happens to be a professional baseball player known to play as a pitcher for the Miami Marlins baseball team. He was born to Roger and Tammy Okert in Riverside, California in the United States of America but grew up in Texas.
Steven had his amateur baseball career at Rowlett High School in Rowlett, Texas, Grayson County College and the University of Oklahoma where he played college baseball. During the 2012 MLB draft, he was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 4th round of the draft. He signed with the Giants and made his professional debut that year with the Arizona League Giants.
That same season, he was also assigned to play for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. He spent the 2013 season with the Augusta GreenJackets and played with the San Jose Giants in 2014. He was promoted to the Double-A Richmond Flying Squirrels before the season ended.
The Giants added him to their 40-man roster in 2016 and called him up to the majors in April that year. He made his MLB debut for the Giants on April 19 2016. In February 2021, the Miami Marlins signed Steven on a minor league contract and he has been playing for the till date.
