Tanner Gentry is an American football player who currently plays for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. Tanner Gentry was born on December 18, 1994.
He participated in collegiate football in Wyoming and in 2017 signed a free agent contract with the Chicago Bears after going undrafted. Gentry participated in high school football at Grandview High School in Aurora, Colorado.
During his senior year, he was named to the First Team All-State Class 5A as a wide receiver. This honour was bestowed upon him by The Denver Post, which placed him on the All-Colorado team for all classifications.
On May 11, 2017, Gentry became a member of the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent after signing with the team. In his first game in the National Football League,
which took place on September 17, 2017, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he recorded two receptions for 27 yards. On September 19, 2017, he was released from the active roster and re-signed to the practice squad the following day.
During the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the New York Guardians picked Gentry to add to their roster. Before the start of the season, he was placed on injured reserve, and then in 2021, he signed a reserve/future deal with the Bills.
