Tanner Scott is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the Baltimore Orioles in 2017.
The year 2012 marked Scott’s graduation from Howland High School. After that, he continued his baseball career in college, spending 2013 at Notre Dame College and 2014 at Howard College.
After the conclusion of the 2014 campaign, he spent some time participating in collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
In the sixth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, he was selected by the Baltimore Orioles to play for their team.
After signing with the team, Scott made his first appearance in the major leagues with the Gulf Coast Orioles, where he spent the entirety of the season, going 1-5 with a 6.26 earned run average in 10 games (eight starts).
During the 2015 season, Scott pitched for both the Aberdeen IronBirds and the Delmarva Shorebirds. Over the course of 42.1 innings pitched for both teams, he recorded a combined record of 4-3 with a 3.83 earned run average (ERA).
Following the conclusion of the season, he participated in the Arizona Fall League as a pitcher.
