In the 26th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, Tully was selected by the Cleveland Indians. The Low-A Mahoning Valley Scrappers, where he made his professional debut, saw him pitch 13 times for a 1.17 ERA.

Tully participated in games for the Single-A Lake County Captains, the High-A Lynchburg Hillcats, the Double-A Akron RubberDucks, and the Triple-A Columbus Clippers in 2017.

He made a return to Lynchburg the next year, pitching in 26 starts and posting a 6-11 record, 4.47 ERA, and 109 strikeouts. Tully pitched for 144.0 innings over 26 starts in 2019, splitting the season between Akron and Columbus, compiling a 9-12 record, 4.44 ERA, 89 strikeouts, and 89 walks.

As a result of the minor league season being postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Tully did not participate in any games in 2020. He played for Akron and Columbus during the 2021 season, posting a 6-6 record, 3.50 ERA, 97 strikeouts in 26 appearances, and striking out 97 batters .

Tully received his first promotion to the main leagues as a COVID-19 replacement player on April 20, 2022, after being added to the 40-man roster.

When pitching 2.0 innings of relief against the New York Yankees on April 22, Tully made his major league debut for the Cleveland Guardians, who had undergone a name change. He gave up one run on an Aaron Judge home run.

The next day, he was sent to Triple-A and then removed off the 40-man roster. On June 25, 2022, the Guardians again decided to choose Tully’s contract. On June 27, 2022, Tully became available for assignment. He was outrighted to the minor leagues on June 29, 2022, following his waiver-claim clearance.
