Basham was taken by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets in October 2018. In week 16 of the 2019 season, he recorded an interception after a pass was thrown. This game marked the debut of his NFL career’s first interception. In March 2021, Basham signed a two-year commitment letter with the Dallas Cowboys.
