American football wide receiver Tavon Wesley Austin plays for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills. At West Virginia, where he played collegiate football, he twice earned All-American recognition. On March 15, 1991, he was born in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States.

He played basketball, football, and track at Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He received a football scholarship from West Virginia University after graduating from high school, and from 2009 to 2012, he competed for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The St. Louis Rams made Austin their first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Austin committed to a four-year, $12.751 million rookie deal in June 2013. Added to the agreement was a $7.653 million signing bonus. Austin was traded to the Dallas Cowboys on April 28, 2018, for a sixth-round draft pick in 2018. The San Francisco 49ers acquired Austin on August 15, 2020. On September 3, 2020, he went on injured reserve. On October 27, he received an injury settlement and was taken off injured reserve.

Austin inked a contract with the Green Bay Packers on December 1, 2020. On August 6, 2021, Austin signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. On September 2, 2021, he went on injured reserve. On September 30, he became active. On June 2, 2022, Austin inked a contract with the Buffalo Bills.
