Currently, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Tavon Wesley Austin plays in the National Football League. His birthday is March 15, 1990. He was twice named an All-American while playing NCAA football at West Virginia.

He played running back in football, aiding Dunbar High to three straight Class 1A state championships. In 218 attempts, he ran for 2,660 yards and 34 touchdowns as a senior. Additionally, he returned 12 punts for 446 yards and two additional touchdowns.




From 2009 through 2012, Austin played for the West Virginia Mountaineers football team after earning a scholarship from the university. His primary position was changed to wide receiver when he was a freshman in 2009, but he was still only sometimes used as a running back.

Austin was taken by the St. Louis Rams in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft at number eight overall. By selecting Austin before the Buffalo Bills at pick 16, the Rams were able to obtain him.

The Rams also selected former West Virginia wide receiver Stedman Bailey with the 92nd overall choice in the third round of the draft, bringing the former teammates back together in the National Football League.

On June 2, 2022, Austin signed a contract with the Buffalo Bills.

Along with his brothers, Austin was raised by his mother, Cathy Green. He has a brother named Dunbar Carlos Austin and is the oldest of four children.

His steadfastness and commitment to improvement date back to his early years. His two elder cousins, Aaron Thompson and Shawn Waller served as inspiration for him.



In Baltimore, Thompson was a running back, and in a Maryland college, a linebacker.
