For the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League, Tavon Wesley Austin is a wide receiver. He represented West Virginia in NCAA football and was twice selected an All-American. He was created on March 15, 1991, in Baltimore, Maryland, in the US.

In Baltimore, Maryland, at Dunbar High School, he played football, basketball, and track. After graduating from high school, he was given a football scholarship by West Virginia University, and from 2009 to 2012, he played for the Mountaineers.

Austin was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the opening round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Austin and the team came to a four-year, $12.751 million rookie agreement in June 2013. A signing bonus of $7.653 million was also a part of the arrangement. Austin and a sixth-round draft selection were traded to the Dallas Cowboys on April 28, 2018. Austin was purchased by the San Francisco 49ers on August 15, 2020. He was added to the injured reserve list on September 3, 2020. He was removed off the injured reserve on October 27 following the receipt of a settlement for his injuries.
