Taylor Hearn Texas Rangers Career

On July 30, 2018, Hearn and Sherten Apostel were traded to the Texas Rangers in exchange for Keone Kela. He ended the season with the Frisco RoughRiders of Double-A.

He finished 4–8 with a 3.49 ERA in 24 starts for both teams. After the season, the Rangers added him to their 40-man roster.

To begin the season, Hearn was optioned to the Triple-A Nashville Sounds. Hearn went 1–3 with a 4.05 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 20 innings for Nashville.

On April 25, 2019, Hearn was promoted to the Rangers and made his main league debut against the Seattle Mariners that night.

He just lasted 13 pitches and gave up five runs (four earned). He was placed on the disabled list on April 26 due to inflammation in his left elbow.

Hearn did not play again in 2019, due to an elbow fracture he sustained during therapy in June. Hearn pitched for Texas in 2020, going 0–0 with a 3.63 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 17+13 innings.

Hearn went 6–6 with a 4.66 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 114+13 innings for Texas in 2021.

In 2017, Royse City High School retired the number 21 from Hearn.
