Taylor Stallworth was born and reared in Mobile, Alabama, and attended Murphy High School. As a junior, he recorded 10.5 sacks and 85 tackles. He was named All-State and took part in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game during his senior season, which saw him accumulate 53 tackles, four sacks, and 12 tackles for loss.



Stallworth picked South Carolina over offers to play collegiate football from Arkansas, Minnesota, Tennessee, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Southern Miss, and Tulane.

Stallworth made his debut with the South Carolina Gamecocks in his second season and played for them for the next four. In his junior year, which was also his first full season as a starter, Stallworth racked up 41 tackles (three for loss), one sack, and three sacks.
