American third baseman Joseph Taylor Ward plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball. The Angels selected Ward with the 26th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He debuted in the MLB in 2018.

Ward began his career with the Orem Owlz before moving up to the Burlington Bees. In 201 at-bats for the two teams, he hit a combined.348 (2nd among minor league Angels players)/.457/.438 with three home runs, 31 RBIs, and six stolen bases. A Pioneer League Mid-Season All-Star was given to him.

Ward attended Fresno State for his high school studies after graduating from Shadow Hills High School in Indio, California. He played with the Orleans Firebirds during the summer collegiate baseball season of the 2014 Cape Cod Baseball League.

He played for the Inland Empire 66ers during the 2016 season, batting.249 with ten home runs and 56 RBIs. He was a MiLB.com Angels Organization Rising Star and a 2016 Arizona Fall League Rising Star.

He switched from catcher to the third baseman before the 2018 season. On August 14, 2018, he received his first promotion to the majors, and that same day, he made his MLB debut.

Taylor ward was born to his father Joe Ward and his mother Samantha Ward on December 14,1993. The couple has three children together; Taylor Ward, Wesley Ward, and Kyndell Ward.

Back in Oviedo, Florida, where he and his parents Joe and Samantha, brother Wesley, and sister Kyndell lived for a while, Ward watched the draft live with family and friends.

After Ward left for Fresno State, his parents relocated back to Florida. Ward’s parents are very supportive of his career and often travel to watch his games.
