Timothy Donald Locastro is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the New York Yankees.
Tim also played in Major League Baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. With 29 stolen bases, he holds the MLB record for most successful stolen bases to begin a career.
Locastro attended Auburn High School in Auburn, New York, before transferring to Ithaca College, where he was the Empire 8 player of the year in 2013 after setting school records for runs and stolen bases.
He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 2013 MLB draft and signed with them on June 13.
Locastro batted .283 in 43 games for the Bluefield Blue Jays of the Appalachian League in 2013.
The following season, he was chosen to play in the Northwest League midseason all-star game, and he hit .313 in 67 games for the Vancouver Canadians, while also stealing 32 bases and being caught only four times.
He began the 2015 season with the Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League, where he hit.310 with 30 steals in 70 games.
For three international signing slots, the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Locastro (along with Chase De Jong) in a trade on July 2, 2015. As part of Rancho Cucamonga, he helped the team win the California League title.
Tulsa Drillers promoted him from Rancho Cucamonga to Double-A Tulsa in the middle of the season. He appeared in 131 games for both teams, batting.285 and stealing 24 bases.
