How Good Is Trenton Thompson?

Thompson had plenty of chances to show that he was a rangy pass defender and a tough run stopper during the past several years, amassing 21 pass breakups and 12 tackles for loss from 2018 to 2021 despite not being a full-time starter until this past season.

He is quick enough to get to the spot where he has to be to make a play, whether it be snuffing out screens or offering safety assistance over the top, and he has the instincts to recognize plays as they develop.

Even better, throughout the past four seasons, Thompson made special teams contributions for the Aztecs, blocking two punts and scoring off of two others.
