Tres Barrera was born Felipe Barrera III. He happens to be a professional baseball player with the Washington Nationals baseball team. He is of Mexican descent and plays as a catcher for the team. He has a height of 1.83 m and a weight of 98 kg.

Tres was born on September 15, 1994, to parents Felipe Barrera and Sylvia Barrera in Eagle Pass, Texas in the USA. He had his amateur baseball career at Sharyland High School and the University of Texas. He also played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League and for the Orleans Firebirds.

He started professional baseball in 2016 when he was signed by the Washington Nationals in the 2016 MLB draft. He played with the Auburn Doubledays of Class A Short Season New York–Penn League that season. During the 2018 season, he spent the season with the Class A-Advanced Potomac Nationals. 


In 2019, the Nationals selected his contract and promoted him to the major leagues after which he made his MLB debut on September 8, 2019, when the Nationals played against the Atlanta Braves.
